Pigritude (2024)

Difficult to know what to say about this painting as I don’t want to overly influence the opinion of the viewer. Particularly as everyone who has seen it has a completely different take on it.

This one sold before the paint was even dry, I posted a picture and was pleasantly surprised when someone directly stated they must have it.

A bold and dynamic exploration of colour and form. Rendered on high-quality canvas, the piece features vivid hues of blue, yellow, red, and white, with striking black lines that create a fragmented, geometric representation of a face. The use of sharp angles and layered textures evokes a Cubist aesthetic, while the energetic brushstrokes and vibrant palette add a modern, expressive flair.

The Galaxy Goblin (2022)

The Galaxy Goblin. My son chose the title for this painting, he insists it looks like a goblin in space, and that the paint splashes and scratches in some way resemble constellations or galaxies. I rather like the idea, although I think I would reverse it as more of an introspection of some kind of internal infinity.
Acrylic on canvas, mounted on a stretcher frame. Multiple layers of paint give the canvas quite a textured feeling. Techniques used include roller, brushwork, splash, scratch, and scrape.

Oreo Dory Fish (Weird Fishes) (2022)

Acrylic outsider art painting with newspaper collage. An acrylic painting featuring three Oreo Dory fish. The background is heavily textured and has been painted with a scraper. The bottom fish is painted in acrylic directly on the background. The top two fish are painted onto paper clippings from a Turkish newspaper. The newspaper is partially viable on the body of one of the fish and shows a photograph of a simit seller and some Turkish writing. After fixing the news[paper clippings I have painted in the detail.
Oreo Dory fish are a weird and slightly scary look deep ocean fish that lives near the seabeds around Australia and New Zealand. In real life, they are a little bit more scary looking.
This painting is part of my Weird Fishes collection.

Scrambl-ed (2021)

Man’s face on a white background. Acrylic on canvas mounted on a stretcher frame. This painting has quite a textured feel to it as there are multiple layers of paint that have been applied using various different methods including splashes, drips, roller application and brushwork. This was a new technique for, to start with a chaotic splash approach and then try and bring out the features using more controlled methods.

Mr Sparrow (2020)

This painting is on permanent display in Museum, Eskişehir.

Outsider art portrait of a man’s face with one large spiral eye that for some reason makes me think of a sparrow (hence the name).
Colours are pretty bright, red, yellow, some kind of bluish colour and some turquoise. Background colours have been applied roughly with a scraper and the outlines of the face are made up of bold black lines.
I can’t say much as to my motivation or intention in painting this picture as I have zero recollection of painting it.
