Breathe

Description

Outsider art painting – The concept of Breathe was to capture a feeling of being restricted in terms of breathing, the face is kind of a mash-up of facial features and a snorkel with goggles, it was completed in March 2022 and Covid mask mandates were still fresh on my mind. It quite a striking piece and one that shows the haphazard nature of splash painting. like many of my pieces it’s kind of a knne-jerk reaction to the feeling of being restricted or compromişsed by situations that are beyond my control.

In terms of technique, it’s a splash painting with the composition on top as a result the surface of the canvas has quite a heavy texture which is a recurring feature in my artworks.
