Painted on a tall, narrow vertical canvas, a format I found particularly engaging to work with, Inmate 021975  functions as a raw, semi-autobiographical study.

Originally finished in 2024, the work was built up through an initial splash painting technique and heavily textured over many layers. In 2026, the canvas was overpainted and readjusted, stripping away original text and evolving the palette while retaining the core composition. The result is a starker, purely structural interplay of bold linear cage-like marks, concentric spirals, and vibrant colour blocks.
